Reduce echo Zoom gives you the option of how you connect your audio when you’re joining a meeting. Microphone placement is important One of the most controllable things you can do to improve audio quality during a Zoom meeting is to check your proximity. If you see high latency or packet loss, your network issue may be broader than just Zoom.

This is definitely worth doing if you always have a connection problem on Zoom. If it’s a one-off problem, there’s likely nothing you can do about it except wait for the problem to pass – you could try stopping all other activity on your connection to let Zoom have all the bandwidth available.

Check you’re not muted: When you join a Zoom meeting you’ll normally have to click to activate the microphone, because you’re muted. Look for the microphone icon in the bottom left hand corner, if it’s crossed out, click it to unmute your microphone. If you’re on the mobile app, you’ll have to “join with audio” to be able to speak or hear sound.
